From comments I received everyone seemed to enjoy the return to Birsemore for night orienteering. We were very lucky with a mild evening and I hope that runners appreciated visiting the better terrain, although the obvious option of leaving the hill to the last control on the path seems not to have been taken up by some. Apologies for the computing hiccups on the night but all is now retrieved and sorted.
First DNC Deeside Night Cup event. Night orienteering. 2 courses on offer. Both at TD5 (green standard and above).
Final Parking Details
Parking will be in the old disused quarry, entrance at GR: NO 532971.
When approaching from Aboyne turn right off the minor road 200 metres beyond Birsemore Crescent.
Registration at the eastern end of the quarry.
For safety reasons please stay away from all piles of materials at the edges of the quarry.
Please note that carrying a spare torch and whistle is compulsory.
Beware large crags and wet marshes, courses have been planned to avoid the worst.
Please also consider carrying a mobile phone.
A comprehensive risk assessment has been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

Fundraiser for the Maroc junior squad, so there will be soup, chilli, cakes and drinks for sale.
Parking at the Cambus o' May Forestry Commission car park
Courses from white to blue (no brown) and unusually for a local event there will be a string course for the youngest competitors.
