Part of the Deeside Night Cup series. The Deeside Night Cup is going ahead as usual this winter, so dust off those head torches and get ready to enjoy Deeside, without the views!
Two courses of around 3km and 5km at TD5/Green standard as far as possible. No concessions to the dark, but the series starts with the easier areas such as Glen O'Dee, Haughton and Murray Parks and Hazelhead Park.
Dont forget to pre-enter by 10pm Monday 1st November using Glen O’Dee 3 Nov DNC event & Covid-19 form. One form per person please. No entry on the night.
Carrying a spare torch is mandatory. You are advised to also carry a whistle, additional warm clothing, and a mobile phone. Full body cover is also mandatory.

If you’re not yet TD5 (Green) standard then please find someone who is to run with the first couple of times so you can pick up tips on Night O navigation strategy.
Balfour

Results
Balfour was first used for Day 2 of Royal Deeside 2017 and has only been used once since then for a Regional event in August 2018. It has been a reserve area for the recent Senior Home International held at nearby Glen Tanar. The terrain is classic runnable Deeside forest with minimal heather and some areas of complex contour detail. For the first time access will be from the southern side of the forest.

Note: Clocks change overnight!
SIAC contactless punching will be enabled for all controls but not the Start and Finish.
Compasspoint Scottish O League incorporating Senior Home Internationals (Individual)

Results
MAROC and Grampian Orienteers held a joint SOL weekend incorporating the Senior Home Internationals.
On the Saturday GRAMP staged a Middle Distance races at Balmedie along with the SHI Relays, and on the Sunday it was MAROCs turn with a full distance SOL at Glen Tanar.
