- 'Sprint', approx 3km, Technical Difficulty 3 (Orange) Standard. This course enables everyone above beginner level to compete against each other whatever your age, fitness or orienteering ability.
- Beginners, approx 2km, Technical Difficulty 2 (Yellow) Standard. This course enables beginners to complete a short course following defined line features
Directions / Parking
Parking is at Belwade Farm located just off the A93 close to Kincardine O'Neil, AB34 5BJ.

There will be a sign at the turnoff from the main road.
We are very grateful to Belwade for allowing us use of the car park so please respect it and its surrounds. The minor access road is narrow with speed bumps and passing places. Please drive slowly and give way to oncoming traffic where appropriate.
Registration & Start Times
Starts/Registration: 18.00 - 19.00, possibly from 17.45.
Please remember that the later you arrive, the later the organisers will be required to collect in controls.
Courses close on the dot of 20.00. Please return to registration by that time.

Forest Sprint: approx 3km
Beginners / Yellow: approx 2km

Explanation of colour courses
- White are very easy with all controls on paths. They are mainly used by 6-10 year olds and family groups.
- Yellow use simple linear features like paths, walls and streams. They are mainly used by under 12’s and family groups.
- Orange progress to basic use of the compass and route choice. They are ideal for novice adults or experienced youngsters.
- Light Green are ideal for improvers as the navigational difficulty begins to increase and uses simple contours and point features.
- Green are used mostly by experienced under 18’s and adults wanting a short but challenging course with a very hard navigational difficulty.
- Blue are a longer, more physically demanding course in comparison to the green. The distances are more varied between controls and the course attracts experienced orienteers.
- Brown & Black are very physically demanding and have a very hard navigational difficulty. They are for experienced orienteers only.
- Score means visiting as many controls as possible in any order in a specific time, like 45mins.

Nice runnable community woodland area on south east side of Aboyne.
Safety and Risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
This includes dressing appropriately for the weather conditions, and carrying a whistle.
