Results
Thanks for coming to Bogendreip and well done to those who found control 125! The consensus was that it was probably in the right place but that putting the control in the bottom of the pit was a bit harsh, hence that leg and the next have been excluded from the overall result.
Local Event with courses for all technical abilities; beginner to experienced.

Pre Event Info
On Sunday 3rd November Maroc has an informal local event at Bogendreip West. There will be 4 available courses – for beginner and intermediate orienteers and two for the more experienced.
Bogendreip West has a mix of delightful forest, rough open and as the name suggests, some damp areas! Help will be on hand for anyone who is new to orienteering. All most welcome.
Directions / Parking
Parking and registration will be based at the Bridge of Bogendreip. As parking there is limited, please park tidily. The map extract shows two alternative parking areas which are available on the other side of the main road. If using these, please do not walk along the main road, but use the old loop road and bridge. Please do not park in the area marked with a red cross as this is a key turning area for farm vehicles. Cross the main road with care.
Registration & Start Times
Registration will be in a car in the main parking area – marked by an O kite. Registration and start will be open from 10.30 until 12.30. Courses close at 2pm.

There is a 10 minute walk to the start and the finish is beside registration.
Explanation of colour courses
- White are very easy with all controls on paths. They are mainly used by 6-10 year olds and family groups.
- Yellow use simple linear features like paths, walls and streams. They are mainly used by under 12’s and family groups.
- Orange progress to basic use of the compass and route choice. They are ideal for novice adults or experienced youngsters.
- Light Green are ideal for improvers as the navigational difficulty begins to increase and uses simple contours and point features.
- Green are used mostly by experienced under 18’s and adults wanting a short but challenging course with a very hard navigational difficulty.
- Blue are a longer, more physically demanding course in comparison to the green. The distances are more varied between controls and the course attracts experienced orienteers.
- Brown & Black are very physically demanding and have a very hard navigational difficulty. They are for experienced orienteers only.
- Score means visiting as many controls as possible in any order in a specific time, like 45mins.
Entry Details
There are no pre-entries. Adults on green courses £6, others £3. Please bring cash if possible. Maps will be collected at registration.

Safety and Risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
This includes dressing appropriately for the weather conditions, and carrying a whistle.

SPORTident timing will be used
Please note that a lost hire SI-Card will be charged for at a rate of £30, unless the Club Commitee agrees that there are special circumstances.
