Part of the Deeside Night Cup series. The Deeside Night Cup is going ahead as usual this winter, so dust off those head torches and get ready to enjoy Deeside, without the views!
Two courses of around 3km and 5km at TD5/Green standard as far as possible. No concessions to the dark.
Bring a spare torch/battery and wrap up warm or waterproof as appropriate.
Check here and on the DNC website for updates to locations and snow reports etc. before travelling.
If you’re not yet TD5 (Green) standard then please find someone who is to run with the first couple of times so you can pick up tips on Night O navigation strategy.

Congratulations to the 39 orienteers who braved the snow to run at Braes DNC, who were rewarded with a fast forest run and low temperatures! Unfortunately disaster stuck and SI timing did not work, so no official results are available. The organiser apologises to all affected. Self-time results are posted above, points allocation is under discussion.
Special mention to Dougal Mather – our youngest orienteer of the night (M10) – well done!
