Success for MAROC at JK 2012
There were plenty of great MAROC performances at JK 2012, a rarity for being on relative home ground. MAROC winning performances over the weekend were:
Ewan Musgrave (M10B)
Jake Chapman (M12A)
Sarah Dunn (W40 & W40 Sprint)
Joe Wright, Jake and Alistair Chapman (Class M Relay).
There were many other quality results.

Be ACE Training starts 4th April 2012
A reminder that the first week of the Be ACE (Become a Compass Expert) Wednesday evening training sessions starts this week (4th April). The first two weeks are in Dess Woods, with parking at Deeside Activity Park (grid ref NJ 567012). Registration will be open from 6:30pm and courses will close at 8:00pm. Please follow the signs/ tapes from the car park into the forest where we will meet / register / start and finish (~500m).
Adults note - these sessions are planned for your benefit too!
Fees adults £2, juniors £1
MAROC - Club of the Year 2011!
MAROC are British Orienteering’s Club of the Year 2011.

Welcome Jess (and Mike!)
SOA recently announced that Jess Halliday (ECKO) and Mike Rodgers (Moravian) have been appointed as Regional Development Officers in Grampian for the period of the next two years. Jess will soon be moving to Speyside and will work with MAROC in Aberdeenshire and GRAMP in Aberdeen City, and Mike will work with Moravian in Morayshire, with the possibility that some projects will engage both.

The design for the medals for podium placers at this years Scottish Championships has been revealed. The medals carry the Scottish Championships logo on one side and the Jubilee Five logo on the other.
MAROC recognised in 2011 Aberdeenshire Sports Awards
MAROC was highly commended in the Club of the Year category and Rhona Macmillan the same in the Young Female Sports Personality.
2012 Spring Technical Training “Be ACE”
We will be running a series of 6 technical training sessions on Wed evenings from April 4th to May 9th. The sessions will be suitable for all standards from beginner to expert and will be aimed at both juniors and adults. The theme of the series is to Be ACE “Become A Compass Expert”.
MAROC in St Andrews
A healthy contingent of MAROC members took advantage of the opportunity for two days of urban Orienteering in St Andrews this last weekend. The first day was the Scottish Sprint Championships and there were plenty of MAROC successes. More good results came the following day in the St Andrews Urban races. Visit MAROC 2012 photo gallery.
Compass Sport Cup at Faskally
Well done to all club members who braved the road closures and turned out today at Faskally to try and help the club in our conquest against ESOC and GRAMP in the Compass Sport Cup.
