Good MAROC representation in Scotjos 2012
Seven MAROC juniors have been selected for the 2012 Scottish Junior Squad.
Congratulations to Abigail Mason (W14), Evelyn Mason, Bronwyn Matthews and Jennifer Ricketts (all W16), and Rhona McMillan, Jessica Mason and Frances Wright (all W18)
Talent Squad Weekend in Glen Urquhart
Last weekend, Maroc junior talent squad travelled across to Glen Urquhart for a full weekend of training. They worked hard and had lots of fun. Read on to find out more.
If you would like to join the junior talent squad in the future this is what you need to do:
(1) Be in age class M/W 16 or older
(2) Have reached a technical level where you are achieving consistently high performances on TD5 courses (green and above)
(3) Have demonstrated commitment to improve your orienteering

MAROC O-League - Final 2011 Results
Well done Ewen Kerridge, Abi Mason, Denise Wright and Andy Tivendale, who took the top places in this years club league.

MAROC Juniors excel at British Schools Champs
Banchory Academy came out top, and Aboyne Academy finished 5th, in the Large Secondary School competition at the British Schools Championships at Llinlithgow this weekend. Banchory Primary finished 2nd in the competition for Primary Schools.
MAROC members, Abigail Mason, Frances Wright, Joseph Wright and Alistair Chapman won their respective classes with plenty of other great individual results.

Jon Duncan Junior Deeside Cup 2011
Final Results are now available. Congratulations to all those who came out top of the pile.
2011 Final Results
10th place for Andrew and Sean in OMM 2011
Maroc member, Andrew McMurtrie, and Gramp member, Sean O’Sullivan, finished a respectable 10th place in the B-class of the OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) at the weekend, covering 50km and over 3,000m of ascent. The event was held near Comrie in the hills between Loch Earn and Loch Tay.
The BBC2 Scotland programme The Adventure Show were on location during the weekend and Andrew & Sean did see one camera during a very wet and windy weekend.

Hazel and Duncan help Scotland to win SHIs
Scotland won the Senior Home Internationals last weekend at Merthyr Common near Trefil, Wales. Hazel Wright and Duncan Coombs were part of the team that came away with a very decisive victory over England, Wales and Ireland. Hazel finished 4th in the W21 race and also ran 1st leg for the winning Scottish womens relay team whilst Duncan ran 2nd leg also for the winning team but in the mens competition.
Coaching and Training Opportunity
Coaching sessions are being held on Saturday afternoons in late October and throughout November. Targeting those orienteers looking to improve their ability at technical difficulty 4 or 5 level the approximately hour long sessions are open to all. The only obligation is a commitment to attend at least 4 of the 6 sessions. Contact {encode="" title="Roger"} for more details and to sign up asap. The first session is on October 29th at 13:00.
Duncan, Hazel and Rhona selected for 2012 GB Performance Squads
British Orienteering have just announced the composition of the new GB 2012 Performance Squads with three MAROC athletes being selected. Duncan Coombs and Hazel Wright are part of the new Elite Development Squad targeting WOC 2015 in Scotland, whilst Rhona McMillan makes the Talent Development Squad. Well done all three.
