Sports Award Success for Alistair Walker
Alistair Walker from Braemar was recently announced runner up in the Young Male Sports Personality of the Year Category of the Aberdeenshire Sports Council Awards for 2010. Well done Alistair!
Five MAROC Winners at Scottish Sprint Championships
MAROC have 5 new Scottish Champions. The complex urban estate of North Muirton, Perth provided the setting for wins for Alistair and Jake Chapman (M10 & M12), Rhona McMillan (W16), Sarah Dunn (W40) and Duncan Coombs (M21E) last weekend. Well done all.

With increasing numbers attending all of our events we need to ensure our entry and registration systems are as slick and efficient as possible.
Bring your BOF numbers to events as it makes registration much easier and also allows you to get BOF ranking points at our level C events.
Indoor Training & Technical Talk Program
For the next 4 Wednesday evenings there is indoor training (circuits and other assorted fun) in Banchory Sports Hall and a talk by an expert in a subject related to sporting excellence. The first of these is on Wednesday 2nd March with Fraser Clyne (experienced internationl marathon runner) attending to talk on endurance running.
2011 Deeside Summer Evening Sprint Series
MAROC and GRAMP are joining forces again, this time to put on this summers Deeside Sprint-O series. The series will commence on Friday 6th May and the single course event format will cater for all Orienteers of TD3 standard and above. Expected winning times for the evening races will be in the order of 15-20 minutes.

Jon Musgrave & Rhona McMillan come out top in DNC 2011
The Deeside Night Cup is over for another year. The twelve race series was once again a close affair with most of the placings only being decided at Scolty after the last race. The usual lavish prize giving at the post race curry was this year attended by an all time record 40 people.

Mystery Runner Revealed!
The deadline day for the competition to launch MAROC’s new web site is passed and so all can be revealed.

Over 50 MAROC members have so far and the first entry deadline for the 6-day passed with 2121 competitors now having entered.
