Indoor Training & Technical Talk Program
For the next 4 Wednesday evenings there is indoor training (circuits and other assorted fun) in Banchory Sports Hall and a talk by an expert in a subject related to sporting excellence. The first of these is on Wednesday 2nd March with Fraser Clyne (experienced internationl marathon runner) attending to talk on endurance running.
Remember that although the Deeside Night Cup is over Wednesday evenings are still orienteering night.

These talks are being arranged for the junior talent squad, however all club members are welcome to come along, entry cost £2, pay on door.
Notes on Speakers:
Fraser Clyne the speaker on this coming Wednesday is superbly qualified to talk about endurance training - he is the fourth fastest Scottish marathon runner ever with a best time of 2hr 11min 50sec set in 1984. He was Scottish marathon champion five times and won three Scottish grand prix road running titles (10K, 10 miles and half marathon).
He was 10th in the marathon at the 1986 Commonwealth Games and represented Great Britain in three World Cup marathons.Fraser also competed in five world cross country championships and raced extensively on the US road running circuit. He has competed throughout Europe and also in America, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Come along and listen, question and learn from one of the best ever Scottish distance runners.
The next 2 Wednesdays the speaker is Alan Sealy a chartered physiotherapist
15 years qualified physio, in NHS and private practice. He has worked with elite athletes at English Sports Institute in Sheffield; head hunted to be Director of Rehabilitation at Klinikk For Alle, private clinic in Oslo. Now he is the owner / director of In Balance Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic, clinics in Banchory and Aberdeen.
Alan is a long time hill runner and occasionally competitive racer a Level 2 Scottish Athletics endurance coach. Has personal experience of most runners injuries!
Alan lives in Banchory and has regularly attended local orienteering events, so will know of the requirements of the sport from a physio and strength point of view.
