Jon Duncan Junior Deeside Cup Standings
Here are the latest standings for the JD2C, updated after the event at Forvie on 8th October (7th event in the series). Final (!) version of event list and rules here.
Jon Duncan Junior Deeside Cup change (again!!) and trophy return
It has now been agreed that the MAROC event on 1st October will be included in the JD2C, so we're back up to 9 events. The remaining events counting for the JD2C are therefore Cambus o' May on 1st October, Forvie on 15th October and Scolty on 5th November. Scoring will now be best 5 out of 9 events.
Those of you who have trophies, please return them to John Mason at one of the upcoming events so that they can be engraved and awarded to this year's winners at the MAROC and/or GRAMP AGMs.
Jon Duncan Junior Deeside Cup Schedule Change
We have had to reduce the number of qualifying races for the JD2C: the best 4 of 8 races will now count towards the final results, with the revised schedule here. This has been caused by the reduced number of level C events this year, and in particular with Scolty having been postponed from17th September to the 5th November (therefore no Bennachie event).
The remaining 2 events counting for the JD2C are therefore Forvie on 15th October and Scolty on 5th November.
*** Gramp event at Scolty cancelled (September 17th) ***
Just to highlight to everyone, as this is still showing up in the events list from Grampian, that the 17th September event at Scolty has been cancelled.
MAROC are now offering club training at Dess for all MAROC club members on that date.
GRAMP are now planning to run the Scolty event on the 5th November in place of the Bennachie event currently in the schedule.
Introductory Orienteering Sessions and After-School Clubs Autumn 2017
Maroc will be organising a block of 4 introductory orienteering sessions aimed at family participation with full coaching provided. After-school clubs will also be starting up again in Aboyne and Banchory after the summer holidays.
JD2C Stop Press
MAROC committee are proposing that the level D event at Coull this Sunday 30th April count as a JD2C event. This is contrary to the note on 15th April that Tyrebagger would be the next JD2C event.
Although Coull is a Level D event, there is a good range of courses and any beginners can be shadowed on the white.
