Introductory Orienteering Sessions and After-School Clubs Autumn 2017
Maroc will be organising a block of 4 introductory orienteering sessions aimed at family participation with full coaching provided. After-school clubs will also be starting up again in Aboyne and Banchory after the summer holidays.

A thumb compass was found at Wednesday's event at Tilquhillie. If this is yours, please reply to and we will re-unite you.
JD2C Stop Press
MAROC committee are proposing that the level D event at Coull this Sunday 30th April count as a JD2C event. This is contrary to the note on 15th April that Tyrebagger would be the next JD2C event.
Although Coull is a Level D event, there is a good range of courses and any beginners can be shadowed on the white.

Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon
MAROC members Craig & Alistair Chapman and Nick & Peter Collins competed in the 2016 Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon this weekend, 2nd & 3rd July. Despite the 'mixed' weather and very little sleep at the camp on Saturday night, they managed to come in 3rd and 13th respectively on the Bedafell Course - well done!
Grampian Advenure Challenge 2016
This 'corporate challenge' organised by Gramp runs in conjunction with the Wednesday evening Summer Series events and is a great opportunity to get new faces involved in orienteering.
Why not get a group together at work to compete for the 'bonsai trophy'? Events are 25th May (Hazlehead) until 29th June (Balmedie and the presentation BBQ), with 2 training events to bring your team along to on the 11th (Balmedie) and 18th May (Tilquhillie).

GRAMP organised Event Safety Workshop
GRAMP is hosting an Event Safety Workshop on Monday 25th April, 6.30-9.30pm in Cults, Aberdeen. Anyone interested in attending should contact Helen Rowlands () to check availability of places.

Events Further Afield in the Near Future
Here's a quick roundup of events outside our immediate area in the near future... but first a reminder that the Forest Sprint Series starts at Countesswells on Wednesday (GRAMP event).
16th April - Long-O at Catlelaw in the Pentlands. Note closing date is today, 11th April!
17th April - Drumlanrig Woods, Thornhill, SW Scotland. Advance entries also close today, but should be entries on the day.
22nd - 24th April - Scottish Spring events incorporating Dark Thistle at Craig a' Barns, JOK Chasing Sprint at Faskally and middle distance race at Bonskeid Estate (elite with open courses). Entries close 17th April.
British Orienteering Champs: 30th April Long Distance Race and 1st May Relay Race at Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire. Let Sarah Dunn know if you want to run in a relay team at the event by 16th April.
