Beginners Training - Hill of Banchory

Sun 06th Mar 2022

Type of event: Training
Type of terrain: Urban
Info updated: 26th Feb

We had hoped to organise training at Muir of Dinnet, but due unforeseen circumstances we will have to cancel this. However, there will be beginners training (up to orange standard), using the Hill of Banchory MapRuns instead. Coaches will be available between 10.30 and 12.

MapRun is an App that can be downloaded on a smartphone and you can then complete Orienteering courses by either using the map on the phone or a printed map. Usually there are no markers at the control points, but the App signals that you have arrived. Further information can be found here:

For the training on 6 March you won't have to use the App (but you are welcome to use it if you like), but we will provide printed maps and control locations will be marked.

Due to the courses taking place in an urban area and courses including road crossing, Juniors under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Please sign up via this link before Friday, 4 March, 5pm.

Final details will be sent out on Saturday, 5 March, and all participants (including acompanying adults) need to register via the above link.
