2014 Deeside Forest Sprints

MAROC and GRAMP are joining forces again, this time to put on the Deeside Forest Sprint-O series. The series will commence on Friday 11th April at Tollo Hill and the single course event format will cater for all Orienteers of TD3 standard and above. Shadowing is allowable but please make such occurrences known to the Organiser. Expected winning times for the evening races will be in the order of 15-20 minutes.

Reminder of Forest Sprint Race Series Rules

The race is a “one course fits all” sprint race with estimated winning time of 15-20 minutes of TD3 standard

Points: will follow the Deeside Night League model. Best four scores over the six races will count towards the final league results.

Course: one forest sprint course of 2.5 – 3.0 Km. The emphasis is on simple, fast(ish) and fun, so the Orienteering will be relatively straightforward. The course will be set at TD3 (Orange), so all levels other than white/yellow should be able to take part. The TD1 (White) or TD2 (Yellow) competitors can also take part if accompanied by a TD3 level or above runner.

Registration: 18:00 -19:00
Start Times: 18:30 – 19:15
Entries: Enter on the night but individual organisers may request reservation of a map in advance – so please keep an eye on the web sites.
Fees: £4/£2.50
