Linn of Dee Nature Orienteering

As part of the Cairngorms Nature Big Weekend, this event will launch a new permanent orienteering course at Linn of Dee.  There will also be a nature-themed string orienteering course for young children and the chance to join in a taster session with OWLS (Outdoor Woodland Learning School).

Nearest town: Braemar, Scotland

Pre Event Info

Participants will be able to try out one of two course options of 2.5km or 4km that will take them on a tour of some stunning woodland and river bank scenery, using a specially prepared orienteering map. Participants should allow around 1 hour to complete the orienteering course and can register at any time between 10:30 and 14:00.

There is no fee for participation, but it would be a big help to the organisers if you pre-registered participation in the orienteering here and the OWLS sessions here

NTS car park at Linn of Dee (note charges apply, free for NTS members), 10km west of Braemar.

Safety and Risk

A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Participants in orienteering should be aware of the risk of tick bites - more information here.

SPORTident timing will be used

Please note that a lost hire SI-Card will be charged for at a rate of £30, unless the Club Commitee agrees that there are special circumstances.
