Club coaches needed

We are currently needing more club coaches to help at our regular training sessions.  To qualify as a UKCC Level 1 coach you need to be able to complete Light Green courses at a certain standard and then attend a 3 day course (usually at the National Centre, Glenmore Lodge) which includes assessment.
The courses are intensive but very worthwhile and good fun.
Further details are available at
http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/natcen/page/national-centre-course-schedule

Maroc covers all cost of the course – in return for expecting qualified coaches to plan at least 2 training sessions a year for 2 years (mentoring and help is available).

If you are interested please check out the SOA site or speak to any of the existing club coaches.

2012-13 Deeside Night Cup Update

The 2012-13 Deeside Night Cup orienteering league finished with an excellent Score event at Crathes and the usual lavish prizegiving at the curry house in Banchory.

Attached are the final DNC results after all 12 events.  My apologies for the errors in the prize-giving - I misread some of the results in the spread sheet that Ian passed to me in the curry house (nothing to do with the Kingfisher!). So time now to rest up the head torch and spend Wednesday evenings doing something less strenuous.
Thanks to all the planners for a set of excellent challenging courses, the club access officials for obtaining permission and to you all for turning out in such numbers.  See you all in November
Cheers
Jon

DNC Update Dec 2012

The first four races of the “Deeside Night Cup” have now taken place and the series takes a break until January. After 4 races Jon Musgrave is leading the league overall, but with 8 races from 12 to count he must feel threatened by youngster Josh Dudley and there is still plenty of time for other competitors to show their form too. Ross McMurtrie is looking like a strong contender for the Mini Cup, but could be pushed all the way by several other competitors.
