Accreditation
Following good results at the Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival in 2007, Aboyne Academy we asked to submit teams for the Selection Races held at Faskally in November. Two teams were successful and will go forward to the Championships being held in Edinburgh from 21st - 27th April.
Junior Girls: Mariel Phimister, Connie MacWilliam and Jenny Martin
Junior Boys: Finlay Langan, Joab Matthews, William Stuart and Sam Burgess
The two teams from Aboyne Academy attended training with the rest of the Scottish Team at Pitlochry from 8 - 9th March 2008. The group were given information about the forthcoming Championships and also heard from participants in previous events.
The Maroc Junior and Senior coaches have very kindly provided a great deal of useful training for members of the teams. Thanks to: Denise Wright, Trevor Ricketts, Sarah Dunn and Hilary Quick.
The teams from Aboyne Academy have appealed to various organisations for help with funding for their entries to the Championships.
