Aims:
PRIORITY 1:
- to hold accurate
information on club members’ experience and qualifications as event
officials and coaches
- to increase the numbers of
club members willing to be considered as event officials and coaches
- to increase the knowledge
and technical skill levels of event officials and coaches
- to increase the knowledge
and use of orienteering-relevant software associated with digital
mapping, course planning and electronic timing systems
PRIORITY 2:
- to develop the orienteering
techniques of club members at all levels
- to improve the physical
fitness of club members
- to promote participation in
competitive and representative orienteering for club members, and to
encourage participation in Badge, JK, National and Championships
events
Duties and responsibilities:
- establish and maintain a
register of experienced event officials with a record of their
experience and relevant training courses attended.
- work with committee events
convenor to plan/agree appointments of suitably experienced event
officials and to increase experience at an appropriate level for
grade advancement.
- arrange training on
orienteering-relevant software associated with digital mapping,
course planning and electronic timing systems
- arrange training for event
officials to maintain and update skill levels, including course
planning, controlling, risk assessments, first aid
PRIORITY 2:
- identify opportunities for
partnership with governing bodies, other clubs or other
organisations to increase club membership or any other ways to the
benefit of the club or of the sport
- work with club coaches and
committee events convenor to develop training and coaching sessions
for club members suitable for all skill levels.
