Controller's Report

Having been Controller here last year as well I was slightly worried that the courses might look the same but with different start points and an anti-clockwise (as against clockwise) direction I think everyone got a new challenge. The fact that the Deeside Night "O" had been on the same map only weeks before is however something that perhaps needs better management.

With the Scottish Night "O" the evening before and/or because of injury several people seemed to have run "down " a course (or two). If I'd known them I'd have asked them to declare themselves non-competitive as they made a farce of the Colour Standard for certain courses.

Another issue was the boxed starts. Having started it seemed unfair to change it and the idea has some merit but perhaps we need to think of a different way of managing it. I have vague recollections of booking in a time slot when I first started in the early 90s (or was that just for national events)?
