| This winter Jon has been working on a project funded by the
Cairngorms National Parks Authority to introduce
orienteering to schools and communities in upper Deeside and
Donside. As part of this project, he is organising two local
events for beginners and children at Ballater and Braemar.
The Ballater event is on 10th March, based at Ballater primary school (Monaltrie Avenue), registration from 9.30-11.30, starts 10.00-12.00, courses close 13.30.
The Braemar event is on 17th March, based at Castleton Hall (also known as the Victoria Hall) on Glenshee Road, registration from 9.30-11.30, starts 10.00-12.00, courses close 13.30.
With the assistance of the Cairngorms National Parks Authority, Maroc hopes to attract new members from the Ballater, Braemar and upper Donside areas.
Upper Deeside has many areas which are ideal for orienteering.
