Work off those mince pies and Christmas pudding and start 2020 as you mean to go on! Our first regional event of the year at Glen o’ Dee is always popular and often attracts a good number of newcomers interested in trying orienteering for the first time. All are welcome! There is a full range of courses from White to Brown and this is the first event that counts towards the Jon Duncan Junior Deeside Cup for 2020. We hope to have home baking and hot drinks available for sale in the pavilion – so please remember a mug to avoid wasting a disposable one.

Two courses of around 3km and 5km at TD5/Green standard as far as possible. No concessions to the dark.
Bellwood Christmas Extravaganza

There will be a mass start at 11am with a 60 minute Score event format*. The event is open to all, and the course will be suitable for everyone.
Registration from 10:30. Please be there in time to head in to the forest at 10:45.
We will pair up younger juniors with an older junior, confident juniors and adults can run on their own if they wish**.
* The score event has a spread of controls through the forest and it is up to the competitor what order to visit them. However at this event there is a twist… After finding one control the competitor then has to find the roving Santa, punch the control he is carrying, then back to another control, then find Santa’s helper who is roving round a different part of the wood, punch their control, another forest control, back to the Santa control etc.
