Job description
(Two People) Since the role requires considerable time to be spent on communications with club members and with outside bodies, we have two people undertaking this task and an informal division of responsibilities between them.
The responsibilities are summarised under the headings below:
Events Planning Cycle
Determine level of interest and commitment for C4 events in the coming year by discussion with the committee and contact with members. Determine dates and locations for C4 and other events (e.g. Score & Pudding Shaker).
Represent the club with others at the annual North Area meeting in October/November to fix dates for C4 and other events in conjunction with other clubs.
Plan schedules and locations for C5 events for the first half of the year.
Continue to develop the C5 programme for later in the year.
Pass on event schedules to publicity officer
Putting on Events
Obtain permissions from land owners
Register events with BOF
Identify event officials.
Circulate event information to main officials
Make available the organiser's manual to officials.
Ensure organisers/planners/controllers are aware they have a responsibility to carry out a risk assessment for each event.
Ensure maps are available to event officials
Thanks event officials post-event
Planning for Progression
Promote progression of members towards the qualification of Controller: offer experience of Planning and Organising, maintain record of experience.
Offer opportunity of mentoring to new members to gain experience as officials.
Miscellaneous
Maintain and circulate Organisers manuals as appropriate
Retain map correction records for future referenceMaintain forest details records
